Menomonee Valley Partners, Inc. has been closely involved with the development of the Hank Aaron State Trail since its inception. Recent developments have included the opening of a 2.5 mile Trail extension, and construction will soon begin on a 24-acre natural area.
The Hank Aaron State Trail runs along the east/west spine of MilwaukeeCounty, and serves a wide variety of users. More than 415,000 people live within a 15-minute bike ride of the Trail, and it is used daily as a walk or bike to work route, by workers taking lunch hour walks, neighbors walking dogs, people fishing the Menomonee River, and others enjoying the natural areas, public art, and destinations along the Trail.
The Trail provides convenient access to 12 of Southeast Wisconsin’s top 25 tourist destinations, including StateFairPark, MillerPark, the HarleyDavidsonMuseum, Discovery World, and the Summerfest grounds. It also connects some of the most economically challenged neighborhoods in the region to thousands of 21st century jobs that are being created in and around the MenomoneeValley by providing commute routes.
